  • Operationalization of the Côte d’Ivoire Commodity Exchange

Since January 2019, the INSTITUTE SOUMARÉ OF FINANCE has been supporting the Regional Securities Exchange (BRVM the French acronym) and the Ivorian Government, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), in the operationalization and launch of the Agricultural Commodity Exchange of Côte d’Ivoire (BMPA-CI). To this end, the INSTITUTE has trained potential market players and developed the business plan for the future Commodity Exchange. The INSTITUTE also acts as an executing agency for the implementation of the business plan and the effective opening of the Exchange and the central structures of the organized agricultural market in Côte d’Ivoire. In the process of implementation, the INSTITUTE visited alongside the delegations of the BRVM and MINADER the production and processing areas of cashew nuts, maize and cola within the country to inquire about the state of production facilities for these agricultural products which must be the subject of the first transactions at the opening of the Exchange.
