Ibrahim DIAWARA, M.Sc.: Office Manager (Abidjan)

Ibrahim DIAWARA is currently working at the INSTITUTE SOUMARE OF FINANCE as Office Manager (Abidjan) where he is in charge of administrative and financial management and project management. He supervises the search for tenders, the preparation and follow-up of files, and the execution of projects. He is also responsible for the training programs delivered by the INSTITUTE. 

As experience in project implementation, recently he was the support staff for the training on sustainable finance and financial derivatives concepts given at the Regional Stock Exchange (Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières – BRVM).

In 2020, he was the coordinator for the implementation of the Côte d’Ivoire Agricultural Commodity Exchange (Bourse des Matières Premières Agricoles de Côte d’Ivoire – BMPA CI). He was also the financial analyst for the elaboration of the global investment policy of the National Social Security Scheme Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale of Burkina Faso (CNSS), and for the feasibility study for the introduction of a complementary retirement plan at the CNSS.

In 2019, he executed several projects including the training of national and regional stakeholders for the future Agricultural Commodity Exchange (Bourse des Matières Premières Agricoles – BMPA) in Côte d’Ivoire, the institutional support for the creation and operationalisation of the BMPA project, the development and production of the BMPA business plan, and support for the training of members and staff of the Regional Financial Market Authority (Conseil Régional de l’Épargne Publique et des Marchés Financiers – CREPMF) on sustainable finance and green bonds.

From 2018 to 2019, Ibrahim DIAWARA was the Deputy General Manager of AGRIFINCOM subsidiary of Crédit Fef (Microfinance Institution) where in addition to the traditional activities that are savings and credit, he was responsible for training agents, developing and deploying in the 35 national agencies that the structure has micro-insurance products. As such, over 1,500 clients received health insurance coverage during this period. Between 2016 and 2018, Ibrahim DIAWARA was branch manager at Atlantic Microfinance For Africa – a subsidiary of the group Banque Centrale Populaire of Morocco and was distinguished in 2017 as the best branch manager with an outstanding credit of more than 1,200,000,000 FCFA allocated to merchants and rural stakeholders and a portfolio at risk of 1.2% in 18 months. Previously, he held the positions of inventory manager and accountant at Kambele Import-Export and ETS Samiyas, respectively. Internationally, Ibrahim DIAWARA worked for CESS Institute as support staff for the project: « Financing Industrialization in Central Africa ».

Ibrahim DIAWARA holds a professional Master’s degree in finance and accounting and holds several certificates, including a certificate in agricultural commodities exchange, a certificate in sustainable finance, a certificate in banking and microfinance activities and recovery procedures in the OHADA zone, training on anti-money laundering and the fight against financing of terrorism and on the revised SYSCOHADA.
